Pricing

Intercom is per seat plus per Fin outcome. Helpdesky is one flat price per workspace. Add a teammate, the bill does not change. Drive a thousand resolutions through AI, the bill still does not change.

Helpdesky uses semantic RAG search over your help center articles. Both the public site and the embedded widget can answer in natural language by quoting your own content. There is no per outcome fee. Intercom's Fin is more powerful for full conversational handoff, but you pay $0.99 for every resolved conversation. Custom domains

Helpdesky supports custom domains on every plan, including free, through Cloudflare for SaaS. Your help center lives at help.yourbrand.com with full SSL. See Setting Up a Custom Domain. Intercom supports custom help center domains too, but only on paid tiers.

Contact form

Helpdesky's contact form is a drop in embed that creates a real conversation in your inbox. Intercom expects you to use the Messenger widget for contact, which is fine if you want chat first, less ideal if you want a classic form.

Ticket center

Every Helpdesky plan ships a full ticket center where customers can see their open and closed conversations. It is the same pattern as Intercom's customer help center but included with no add on. Intercom's ticketing system is solid but lives behind the seat tiers.

No plugins

Helpdesky has no marketplace add ons. The widget, AI, custom domain, ticket center, email channel and API are all in the base product. Intercom is modular, which means you often need Pro or Proactive Support Plus to unlock things you assumed were included.

Many customisations

Branding, colours, logo, favicon, light or dark theme, two help center layouts, and a deeply customisable widget. Helpdesky's branding is removable on Pro and above. Intercom does support strong branding on the Messenger but you are tied to its visual conventions.
